The value of Bitcoin holdings at the firm surged to $5.7 billion on Thursday evening, following the digital asset's price surpassing $37,000 for the first time since May 2022.Over a span of three years, the organization has amassed more than 158,000 bitcoins by utilizing company funds and earnings from bond sales. The current value of these holdings is equivalent to more than 80% of MicroStrategy's $7.1 billion stock market capitalization.

According to Bitcoin Treasuries, the combined value of these assets is a staggering $4.6 billion, making it the largest institutional holding by a significant margin. Marathon Digital, the next largest holder, has 13,000 bitcoins valued at $500 million. MicroStrategy made its latest purchases known to the public prior to September 24th, acquiring 5,445 bitcoins for a sum of almost $150 million, with an average cost of $27,053 per bitcoin.
